In life, we meet a lot of people. Some are here of a reason, and some are here for a season. Dave Smith was with you for many seasons…
You have to be brave to start a media business when media businesses are dying. Brave, or crazy. We ought to know, we did it too. So when I got a phone call from Dave late August looking to see if we would be interested in buysing The Know-It-All, I knew we had to hear him out.
Our publications are similar in so many ways: We share the same purpose, the same mission, the same vision. We started the Seeker 16 years ago because there was nowhere affordable for small businesses to advertise. Mai-Liis and I were both small business owners and couldn’t afford to pay thousands of dollars to advertise in existing publications, so we sat down, crunched the numbers and decided to start The Local Seeker.
The publication, initially a newsprint, quickly took a life of its own and became so much more than what it was meant to be… But I digress…
Fast forward to today. We are pleased and honoured to take over the reigns of this Local Gem. The Know-It-All has been relentlessly publishing bi-weekly for over 13 years, helping so many of South Stormont’s small businesses in the process. South Stormont is a tight-knit community, with a lot to offer to residents and visitors alike, and we are dedicated to build upon Dave’s Vision, while continuing to offer great service with a smile. It may be a different smile, but it will still be a smile.
But to do so, we need to hear from you!
What do you like about the Know-It-All? Where do you think it could improve? How would it serve you better as an advertiser or as a reader? Let us know! Email us at info@theknowitall.ca
We can’t wait to meet you!
Julia and Mai-Liis
